As a photo editor, I often do not resize for web, and when I do, I want the easiest fastest way possible. If you are showing a sneak peek to your clients, you might also be interested in quickly converting your images to a websize. As far as photo retouching is concerned, this is really a quick way to resize your image for web and add a little black border. Disclaimer: I also made this as a similar post as a video tutorial. Personally I prefer the written tutorials because they make it much easier to go step by step. Which do you prefer?
1. Open Your Image in Photoshop
2. Go to Image – Image Size.
3. Change the settings to the size you want your image. First I changed the resolution to 72. Then, I chose 600 for the width and let it auto choose the height. Make sure that you have “constrain proportions” checked. Click ok.
4. Choose Image – Canvas Size.
5. I like a thinner border, but you could change the size to make it thicker. Make sure that Relative is checked. Then I chose 0.25 for the dimensions. If you click on the little black box, you can choose a custom color for your border. But I just chose black. Click ok.
6. Make sure you Save as and rename the image (I just use the image name and then add for web to the end of it)
That’s it easy peasy lemon squeezy.
